Maurice Edward Denny , born in February 1886 , was the third generation of his family to be in control of shipbuilding in Dumbarton. Maurice was educated in the English public school system at Tonbridge. He then spent two years at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, followed by a year at Heidelberg.
